Born on August 15, 1982, in Brantford, Ontario, Ryan grew up in a community that nurtured his sense of adventure, kindness, and humor. He was the beloved son of Margaret and Thomas Lefler and a proud brother to Jason, Olivia, and Leah. From an early age, Ryan’s natural curiosity, boundless energy, and warm, approachable nature endeared him to all who knew him.
After graduating from Brantford Secondary School, Ryan pursued a career in the skilled trades, where he found great fulfillment. Known for his exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and tireless work ethic, he quickly earned the respect of his colleagues and clients. Ryan’s dedication to excellence and passion for his craft were evident in every project he took on.
Yet, it was his role as a husband and father that truly defined him. Ryan married his soulmate, Sarah, in 2009, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Whether planning spontaneous adventures or simply enjoying quiet moments at home, Ryan’s love for Sarah was evident in everything he did.
As a father, Ryan’s world revolved around his two children, Mason and Lily. He was deeply involved in their lives, coaching Mason’s soccer team, helping Lily with her school projects, and always making time to be with them. Ryan’s love for his children knew no bounds, and he made them feel safe, supported, and incredibly loved. His absence leaves a profound gap in their lives, but his memory will continue to guide and inspire them forever.

Ryan’s ability to bring people together and create lasting memories was a gift he shared generously.
An avid outdoorsman, Ryan found peace in nature, whether it was fishing by the Grand River, hiking nearby trails, or camping with his family. He shared his love for the outdoors with his children, creating lifelong memories and instilling in them a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Ryan was known for his sharp wit and infectious humor. His playful banter, funny stories, and ability to brighten any room with his laughter were part of what made him so special. His positive attitude and the joy he brought to others were constant sources of inspiration, and as we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the countless ways Ryan made the world a better place.
